Meet the Founder

Joy R. Crowe, M.Ed.

Why The Crowe Collaborative?

I am The Crowe Collaborative because I believe collaboration is the key to unlocking the services and supports every child deserves. True success comes from working together—parents, classroom teachers, school administrators, and district leaders—to create a shared vision for student growth. When we unite our efforts, we build the strongest path forward for children with special needs.

I’m a retired Special Educator with over 40 years of experience dedicated to advocating for and supporting children with special needs. Throughout my career in the public school system, I’ve served as a teacher, Special Education Lead, 504 Coordinator, and Intervention Specialist—working with students of all exceptionalities across all grade levels.

Empowering Families Through Special Education Support

I have a deep understanding of IDEA and ADA policies and a proven track record of building effective support systems for both general and special education students. I’ve also worked with the Georgia Department of Education in Dispute Resolution, helping families navigate the process to ensure their children receive the services they need.

In addition to my work in schools, I’ve been a private tutor for students with special needs, helping them master their IEP goals and improve academic skills, especially in reading.

My passion has always been giving both students and parents a voice in their child’s academic and social-emotional growth. I have extensive experience in learning disabilities and behavior disorders, and have supported parents and schools in developing appropriate accommodations and behavior interventions.

I am intentional about empowering parents to advocate for their child’s rights under IDEA and take pride in my strong communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and school leadership.
